Things I love to find in the wild

I was doing a domain consolidation last week.  I found one of the servers hadn't been restarted in close to a year.

I almost felt bad having to restart it.  It was nearly a sentimental experience.  My eyes welled up with tears.

However, next up, this old box is due to grow into into an Domino 8.5 server.

Ahhh... the price of Best Practices sometimes means leaving history where it should be, in the past.

Onward, into the future!

A Windows server no less..which means it hasn't had any windows updates for 337 days either! :o

Last week I found a W2k server from an acquisition that had been running for 22 months. It took 10 minutes just to logon and a further 20 to restart it :)

Last April, I upgraded a mail server for about 20 people to Domino 8.0. A few hours ago, that server reached the 365 day "Elapsed Time" mark. Nice! Now, though, it is time to upgrade them to Domino 8.5, and apply a year's worth of Windows Updates.
