Head in a blender

Ready... Set...

There are a lot of people waiting to pull the trigger on Release 8.0.1.  I know of several shops that will be putting it up into production within the next week or so.

I'm not crazy about throwing caution to the wind.  This is an upgrade, with all of the inherent risks associated with upgrades.  Cool heads should prevail.  Testing and piloting is never optional in my book.  This is especially true when moving from R6 to R8, as so many holdouts are now planning to do.

And did you know that not everyone reads blogs?  Do everyone a favor and send out some links to the IBM announcement to technical and non-technical associates.  You'll be surprised how many thank you for the tip.  Make sure they pay special attention to the other language version ship dates where appropriate.

Here's a link, so you can see it yourself if you haven't already.

Here's the incredibly long version of the link.

Here's a more concise version.

Caution? Cool heads? Testing?? What, are you my Mom?

If only someone had an upcoming seminar on how to rollout Notes8 to users.

What do you think about R8.0 to R8.01? I have a few clients that are thinking about upgrading for their Sametime environments ...

All is fine now. One thing I will mention. the Full client (that contains the Admin and Designer plus the Notes client) is now listed as Domino Designer in the download. I did not run that and my 8.0 install was the full install.

Once I got the right one, all went pretty smoothly. Just thought I'd update my earlier post.
